A physical system is a collection of physical objects connected together to perform a job. For example Governing mechanism of a steam turbine is one of example of physical systems.

It is very difficult to represented any physical System in full detailed manner so during analysis of any physical system idealizing asssumptions are made for simplicity. This type of idealized physical system is  called a physical model.
A physical system can be modelled in a number of ways depending upon the various specific problem and  the desired accuracy.

Next job is to obtain a mathematical model of the physical system. Mathematical model means mathematical representation of the physical model by use of appropriate physical laws .
