The Foolish Donkey

A man had a donkey to carry loads. Once he put some salt on the back of the donkey. On its way the donkey fell into a stream. Much of the salt melted away and the animal was greatly relieved of the burden. On some other day the master put a big load of cotton on its back. This time the donkey followed the old trick. It fell into a stream on its way. The cotton soaked in water became much heavier. As usual, the donkey got out of water with the load on his back. But this time the load became much heavier. It was more than it could carry. The foolish donkey realized its own fault. It never played its trick again.
