                Answer any three questions from Group A and any two from Group B.

                                                All Questions carry equal marks.

                                                    Answer any three questions.

 

1.  Discuss the diverse characteristics of Indian Society and the unity that prevails inspite of them.

 

2.  What is Sanskritization ?   Examine whether the process of Sanskritization brought changes in the Indian Caste System.

 

3.  Briefly illustrate the changes in the institution of family in the contemporary Indian Society.

 

4.  How pressure group is related to interest group ? Analyse the role pressure group in modern Indian Society.

 

5.  Discuss the importance of environmental awareness in Indian Society.  Write a note on the role of women in the environmental movements in India.

                                              Answer any two questions.

 

6.  In what way has education become an instrument of stratification in India ?   Does the policy of reservation affect the general standard of education ?

 

7.  "Slum problem is the root cause of urban decomposition."   Do you agree ?   In this context analyse the consequences of "culture of poverty".

 

8.  Analyse the Constitutional provisions regarding the tribal community in India.  Are they sufficient to preserve their cultural identity ?   Justify your answer.

 

9. Evaluate the intensity of the problem of drug-addiction in Indian Society.  Suggest some steps for tackling this problem.
