Im student of mechanical engineering, studying in third year(sem6). Im planning to start my preparation for gate exams but getting very much confused about
1. How to study?
2. What to study?
3. Which books to be referred?
Please if u could help me sort out my confusion, I'll be very thankful then!!

Guiding For GATE
At first you go through the GATE syllabus and decide what are the subject and topic are easy for you then study those subject and solve maximum number of question relate of that subject. When get confidence from those subject after that start the new subject or topic and continue study and solve many problem.
As reference book you can study the "GATE for mechanical Engineer" by G.K publishers ,and solve the MADE easy 's question.
GATE is low scoring exam. So you need efficiency. all attempted question
should be correct. 40 to 45% marks consider as good score.
Syllabus is vast so you can't prepare throughly. Selective study will be
preferable.
Things to Do:
Solve Last 5 year question papers.
Sort every question by chapter wise and patter wise. Then you can
understand which chapter and which part are important. Question may be
different but pattern are same. fixed your target on these selected type
questions and prepare as good as possible that any question from this
region will be answered by you.
One thing keep in mind that question for gate are calculative and
applied type, small but intelligent calculation. answer option also
confusing, so be careful about correctness.
