What is Electrical Machines ?

Electrical Machines or Devices is a general term for machines where electromagnetic forces converts into other forms of energy i.e mechanical energy, Electrical Energy, heat, light etc or vice versa. Electric Motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Electric Generators converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. Electric Transformers Transform electrical load or current form one voltage level to another voltage level. Electric heater converts electrical energy into heat energy etc. Actually any machines which operated by electrical power or producing electrical power is called Electrical Machines.

Electric Motors, Electric Generators, Electric Transformers are most popular Electrical Machines.

Electrical Machines are basically two types in nature according to current flow characteristics...

  Direct Current Machines

  • DC Motors
  • DC Generators

Alternating Current Machines

  • Synchronous Machine
  • Induction Machines
  • Transformers
